Park De IJssel Eilanden is idyllically located right on the shores of Lake Reevemeer – one of the lakes forming the natural border between Flevoland and Overijssel. Within just a few minutes, you can reach the mouth of the IJssel River and the charming Hanseatic town of Kampen.
From the Reevemeer to the Ketelmeer – Water Fun & Nature Experience
The name of the park says it all: surrounded by waterways such as the IJssel, the Randmeren, the Ketelmeer, and the IJsselmeer, this is a true paradise for water sports enthusiasts and explorers alike. Start your water adventure directly from the park’s own marina!
Nature lovers will be in their element here: the IJssel Delta, with its small canals and lush green islands, is a haven for countless bird species – perfect for birdwatching, fishing, or simply pausing to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Historic Charm in Kampen & Zwolle
Just a stone’s throw away, the Hanseatic towns of Kampen and Zwolle await you with their very own unique charm. Narrow alleys, medieval buildings, and picturesque squares transport you back in time.
In Kampen – the “Amsterdam of the Middle Ages” – you can stroll through historic streets, visit the Old Town Hall or the impressive New Tower, and relax on one of the cozy terraces.
Zwolle impresses with its mighty city walls, the Sassenpoort gate, and one of the most beautiful bookstores in the Netherlands: Waanders in de Broeren, a former church where books and culinary delights come together under one magnificent roof.
Indoor Pool & Sauna – EuroParcs Zuiderzee Biddinghuizen
Guests of the park can enjoy swimming at the nearby EuroParcs Zuiderzee even when the weather isn’t ideal! Kids can have fun on the 40-meter-long water slide, while the little ones play in the children’s pool aboard the pirate ship. A sauna is also available for relaxation.
